The North Western IFCA is looking for three salaried officers based at Whitehaven, Cumbria with an enthusiasm for the marine environment and a knowledge of marine issues and the fishing industry together with a strong drive to enforce rules protecting fish stocks, marine habitats and marine wildlife.

The role covers duties both on land and at sea, working as part of a small team on a survey / patrol vessel as a member of the crew, undertaking boarding operations and shore-based enforcement of fisheries legislation, as well as assisting with surveys and project work, replying to consultations, liaising with partner organisations and stakeholders, and attending meetings. These duties would be carried out across the North West of England, with a focus on the North Cumbria coast and associated inshore marine area.
