Sussex IFCA are recruiting two Senior Conservation and Research Officers to join the team on a full-time permanent basis.
The Sussex Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (IFCA) is one of ten regional IFCAs in England. They manage sea fisheries resources and Marine Protected Areas out to six nautical miles, covering the Sussex Coast and its estuaries.
Their role is to balance environmental, social and economic needs – supporting sustainable fisheries while protecting the marine environment. They are a local government committee, funded by East Sussex County Council, West Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council.
This is a key role in a small team, where you’ll have the chance to take real ownership of projects and contribute directly to how fisheries and conservation are managed along the Sussex coast.
You’ll be involved in a mix of project work, data analysis, reporting and stakeholder engagement. The role is primarily desk-based however some days will be out on the water or on the shore carrying out fieldwork.
