The AIFCA is the national voice of IFCAs. We work with the ten Authorities to support, promote and improve
inshore fisheries and conservation management, ensuring that coastal communities prosper and coastal waters are effectively protected.
The AIFCA Annual Delivery Plan 2026-2027
This Annual Delivery Plan sets out the priorities, activities and outcomes for the Association of Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities (AIFCA) for the 2026–2027 financial year. The Plan builds on the established
structure of the 2025–2026 Annual Delivery Plan and reflects continuity of purpose while incorporating
updated objectives for the Senior Policy Officer, Senior Technical Officer, Communication & Engagement
Manager, and the Chief Officer.
The AIFCA will support the IFCAs to engage in national policy to implement the Joint Fisheries Statement and the Fisheries Act 2020, contributing to the delivery of the eight fisheries objectives and to Good Environmental
Status under the UK Marine Strategy. In line with the Environmental Improvement Plan 2023, the Environment Act 2021 and the commitment to halt nature’s decline by 2030, AIFCA will champion consistent, evidence-based approaches to biodiversity recovery, sustainable fisheries and climate resilience, including supporting IFCAs in reducing emissions and protecting blue carbon habitats.
